Usher reportedly has intentions to use the world’s biggest stage to launch his first international tour in nearly a decade.

According to Billboard, the “You Make Me Wanna” superstar will be the first act in seven years to use their Super Bowl Halftime Show set to promote a major tour. His last tour was The UR Experience Tour, which took place from Nov. 2014 until March 2015.

Sources told the outlet that his team has been “placing holds on arenas” all over the globe and they’re also expected to spend the next few months finalizing the tour — with the hope that fans will be able to purchase tickets for after he concludes his show during Super Bowl LVIII.

For the past two years, the King of R&B became the King of Las Vegas with his sold-out residencies at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and Dolby Live at Park MGM. In total, his Sin City run has earned $83 million and sold an estimated 374,000 tickets. However, when his My Way residency wraps up in early December, it’s expected to surpass $100 million in profit.

Coincidentally, the Super Bowl will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024. The 44-year-old crooner’s new album, Coming Home, is slated for release on the same day.

When speaking with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, he added, “[It’s] a love letter once again to the legacy of my career. You know, I’ve been coming home in a lot of different ways. The choice of music and reconnection to some of the people that I’ve worked with from my past… In a sense, I’m coming home because I’m in that comfortable space. When you’re at home, you’re comfortable. When you’re at home, you feel connected, elevate, rise and inspire.”

He continued, “I’m coming home. I’m back home with my team. You know, even when you see the artwork, you will understand it. When you see the peach. You get it. You understand where I’m from and what we’re doing. And also to what this means, the subtlety of that. But more than anything, it’s a celebration of music. Coming home in many other ways as you get more acclimated. When I put out more records and also to put more visuals, actually begin to really understand it. But I think that it is something to be celebrated.”

Usher initially stated that “GLU” was the lead single to the album, but it’s actually his 21 Savage and Summer Walker collaboration, “Good Good.”
