The comedian made an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s show that quickly went viral for his jabs at several of his big-name peers.
When comedian Katt Williams made his appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay YouTube show and podcast, he predicted the episode would have the internet in shambles — and he was proven right very quickly after.

Williams’ interview premiered on Wednesday, and throughout the nearly three-hour video — reportedly the longest in Club Shay Shay history — the 52-year-old comedian took shots at several of his big-name peers, including Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey.

Even the podcast host himself caught a stray from Williams on his own show, with the comic telling him, “You having an unnatural allegiance to losers is not like you,” with a completely deadpan delivery.

Unsurprisingly, a handful of those addressed have taken the chance to defend themselves against Williams’ inflammatory comments.

The comic seemingly reignited a long-time feud between him and Hart, whom he accused of being an industry plant on Club Shay Shay.

“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club,” Williams said. “He already had his deals when he got here…what do you think a plant is?”

He went on to allege that Hart had picked up roles that Williams passed over. “For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was just, ‘Can we take some of this Stepin Fetchit sh*t out and then I can do it? Like it don’t need to be overtly homosexual cuz I’m not homosexual, right? It doesn’t need that to be funny, right?’ And me saying that and them going, ‘Oh yeah, no problem,’ and then going to give it to this other guy and having him do it just like it was and acting like I’m a bad person because I keep standing on my standard,” Williams claimed. “Yeah, it’s interesting, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Again, I’m on the winning side of these decisions.”

Hart took to X (formerly Twitter) to call Williams’ comments “sad” and promote his upcoming Netflix film.

“Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad. In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film LIFT which will be dropping on @netflix in 8 days!!!!!” he wrote on the media platform. “There is a moment in the trailer where @gugumbatharaw says, ‘They Really Love You’ ….I now know she’s talking about “Katt” 😂😂😂 Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!”

Comedian Michael Blackson also had words for Williams after the latter accused him of using a fake accent for his work.

“Most comedians don’t get booed enough. That’s how you end up with Michael Blackson, who is a real African, doin a fake African accent,” Williams said, insisting that Blackson has stayed mad at him for years because he told him to stop dressing in “dirty daishikis.”

Blackson took to X to quip that Williams smartly took shots at “the top 10 comedians alive today” so he could regain relevance. And while Blackson ranked Williams as the fourth best comedian alive — a list on which he ranked himself at number 10 — he wrote that Williams’ glory years are long behind him and claimed he witnessed Williams get heckled in his Cincinnati hometown.

A surprising target of Williams’ comments was rapper and actor Ludacris, whom the comic accused of being part of the Illuminati and joining in exchange for movie success.

“We were both invited to an Illuminati thing,” Williams said, claiming that both he and Ludacris were up for a role in the late John Singleton’s 2 Fast Too Furious. “It had to be one or the other of us, and decisions had to be made.”

“One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more with the points,” he alleged. “And the next person, they said, was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him 10 million a movie to do 20 movies. One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris, and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.”

Ludacris’ relatively small part in 2 Fast Too Furious led to a recurring role in the ongoing franchise. The comic claimed that the rapper-turned-actor was given “a light-skinned ugly-faced wife,” referring to his wife, Eudoxie.

In response, Ludacris shared a one-minute video in which he raps over Kanye West’s “Devil In A Blue Dress” instrumental and fires back, “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati/ And I only left with bitches when coming from any party/ Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life/ Never been a clout-chaser, never say shit for likes/ RIP John Singleton, you never have to flex/ When you earn every one of your Fast & Furious checks/ Afro with the sideburns, yeah, that’s my signature/ Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.”

Williams also gave his side to another long-standing feud, this time with Cedric the Entertainer. The comic insisted that Cedric allegedly stole one of his best jokes, an accusation that Cedric denied on a 2022 Club Shay Shay episode.

“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know,” Williams claimed. “The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well on BET’s ComicView that they made it part of the commercial.”

“This is not just a random joke — this is my very best joke, and it’s my last joke, and it’s my closing joke,” Williams continued. “[In] 1998 I’m doing this joke; it’s on ComicView. Cedric comes to The Comedy Store. He watches me in the audience, he comes backstage. He tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on the [Original] Kings of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he’s just changed my car into a spaceship.”

Williams also claimed that Cedric apologized for taking his material. “Him and Steve [Harvey] had already apologized for me so I gave him a pass for a decade,” he said on Club Shay Shay. “Are you kidding me? Why would you downplay me like that? Why did I give you a pass if you were just going to lie?”

Cedric took to the comments section of Club Shay Shay’s Instagram page to deny Williams’ claims again, calling the story “revisionist history.”

“My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for I am,” The Neighborhood star wrote. “And all that tough talk! Is corny af I’m grown ass man,” he wrote in another comment. “And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here..”

Williams also had accusations for Harvey, whom he claimed stole the idea for his popular sitcom, The Steve Harvey Show, from Mark Curry’s Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. Williams also alleged that Harvey hated the late Bernie Mac’s transition to Hollywood because he wanted to be an actor but didn’t have the chops.

“There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good….and look like Mr. Potato Head,” Williams said of Harvey. “There ain’t none. You have to have range.”

The comic later claimed Harvey lied about his origin story, alleging, “This is like Steve Harvey telling people he used to be homeless. That’s my story, that’s not his story. Steve Harvey was never homeless. 25 years ago he was making $3,000 a show in cash and doing five shows a week… they just tell the stories.”

“Who cares that they wrote a plaque card for you to do Family Feud on?” Williams later added. “Like, you’re successful because we’re surprised you can talk for a living and it’s entertaining that you going to say some funny country things, but not a writer.”
